Join our team, we are hiring

Aker Energy is rapidly growing its organisation and capabilities and will be hiring competent people in most parts of our organisation in the months to come.

The organisation is currently in an active phase, preparing for the submittal of a Plan of Development (PoD) for the Pecan field development in ultra-deep waters offshore Ghana. The company is also planning a drilling campaign to test between 3-6 appraisal targets in the proximity of discoveries in the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points (DWT/CTP) block.

“We are planning to develop the Pecan field in the DWT/CTP block with a purpose-built FPSO connected to a subsea production system at 2,400 meters below sea level offshore Ghana. Currently we are planning an imminent start of the appraisal drilling campaign and the team is preparing for FID and a submittal of the PoD in second half of 2018. We are strongly committed to deliver a project that will produce First Oil in fourth quarter of 2021. Consequently, we are now looking to recruit candidates that have excellent know-how and expertise from FPSO development projects and advanced offshore operations,” says Jan Arve Haugan, CEO at Aker Energy.

Ground-breaking development project

The right candidates will join a highly competent team with wide variety of experience, that is already progressing the development concept, investment decisions and the PoD. More than 80 people are currently engaged in the team for Aker Energy. During a transition period, Aker Energy will draw on certain third-party capabilities, including Aker related companies and their frame agreement contractors.

The PoD project is project is led by Tore Sjursen, Sr. VP of Field Development at Aker Energy. He has over 30 years of oil and gas experience from different Aker Group companies both in Norway and internationally. He joined Aker Energy from the position of Head of Operational Improvement at Aker Solutions ASA.

“The Pecan discovery is located in ultra-deep waters offshore of Ghana, challenging us to explore new and innovative ideas to identify the best development solution. We are committed to deliver outstanding results for our shareholders, the local community and society as a whole. We look forward to competent and dynamic people joining us on our journey to become the leading offshore oil and gas operator in Ghana,” says Sjursen.

10 positions, and counting

Aker Energy is now recruiting to ten positions where both development and operations experience from FPSOs or subsea production systems are top picks. The company also expects to continue hiring personnel to all parts of the organisation and will publish more job listings in the near future.

Furthermore, Aker Energy has resolved to contribute positively in the communities where we operate. We therefore welcome applicants that share our willingness to cooperate, are committed to the sharing of information and knowledge and strive to continuously improve the way we work.
