We are building an IT team to provide Aker Energy with all required IT services. For our office in Oslo, Norway, we are looking for a Business Application Manager to manage Aker Energy’s business application portfolio, support our organisation with application lifecycle management (including acquiring, implementing, operating, updates and decommission) and secure a unified management structure with super-users/owners.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Establish and maintain an updated view of application and integration landscape
  • Create and maintain a framework for application management (Lifecycle)
  • Ensure consistent management of all applications, with support of super-users, including licenses, contracts, utilisation and performance
  • SLA management of service providers
  • Close interaction (day-to-day) and follow-up of business users (being-out-there), ensuring any discrepancies in service, needs, functions or other matters are captured
  • Communicate and interpret policies for systems operations as needed
  • Participate in/lead implementation projects
  • Act as a point of contact for communicating system problems within the group and collaborate with other teams and vendors on changes, fixes and updates
  • Host IT Business meetings to manage and coordinate business needs with new solutions in mind
  • Assess user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analysis of opportunities in order to take advantage of available tools and translating business needs to technical requirements
  • Work closely with all other IT personnel in identifying, evaluating, selecting and implementing specific information technologies that support the business plans and IT strategies
  • Ensure the department adheres to policies and procedures that are compliant with industry and regulatory policies
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets for IT systems and service related interfaces and applications

Qualifications & personal attributes

We are looking for a person with more than 7 years’ of experience with management of IT applications used in the oil/gas industry.

Furthermore, we expect you to have a good technical understanding of application delivery methods such as Cloud, Virtual desktop infrastructure and On-premises software.

In addition, proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Business Suite applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is needed. Fluency in Norwegian and English, written and orally, is a must.
