The HSSEQ department is looking for an HSSE Advisor to strengthen the team.

The person we are looking for will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of effective HSE reporting processes, both internally and externally. Additional tasks include following up on consents, permits and approvals in compliance with the local requirements.

The position is organized within the HSSEQ department with daily tasks and reporting to the Risk and Safety Performance Manager. The role requires that working hours are shared between Oslo and Ghana.

Responsibilities and tasks

Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain the company’s key processes and regular reporting needs on HSE KPIs from Synergi, internally and for external stakeholders, to drive high levels of performance within the business
  • Perform analyses on data and provide insight on improvement opportunities, including internal benchmarking
  • Proactively develop and communicate standard and automated reports for all business units
  • Keep abreast of relevant legislation, regulations, corporate requirements and standards within HSE
  • Ensure compliance to Ghanaian legislation and Aker Energy’s standard processes as it relates to HSE reporting
  • Actively support and promote a pro-active and positive HSSE culture within the entire organization (incl. contractors)
  • Administer the permit register and ensure consents, permits and approvals are sent in due time
  • Contribute to ongoing HSSEQ work within the department

Qualifications & personal attributes

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree level in relevant topics, preferably within HSE
  • Interest in investigations and data analysis
  • Knowledge of government legislation in Ghana and industry standards and guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills in English both orally and in writing
  • Be able to work systematically with good knowledge of data systems and reporting tools
  • Be able to work under pressure with positive working attitude and strong sense of responsibility
  • Strong cross-function team work skills with demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships
