We are now looking for Production Engineer to strengthen our organization to support development of our oil discovery offshore Ghana.

Please note this is a permanent staff role in Oslo, Norway with a 2 year expat assignment during project phase. The role will located in Oslo during the operations phase.

Responsibilities and tasks

Project phase

  • Create plans for well startup in cooperation with the reservoir team
  • Create choke model for oil & gas production deferment reporting for operational phase
  • Carry out process design review work and related activities as assigned in project

Operations phase

  • Work with reservoir team and create a practical evergreen reservoir management plans
  • Convert the reservoir management plan into instructions and procedures for the production team
  • Create the medium and long-term production forecast and interact with trading with regards to trading for oil sales and timing of cargo offloading.
  • Assist in the development, monitoring and reporting of production KPIs.
  • Assist in the preparation and development of operation/production budget
  • Together with Maintenance department, prepare and manage planning minimum shut down maintenance (budget, manning, materials, etc.)
  • Identify production deferment using a choke model and utilise root cause analysis techniques to resolve
  • Monitor FPSO supplier management of process operation and optimisation through regular meetings and audits

Key responsibilities and tasks

  • Create & maintain choke model for oil & gas production deferment reporting for operational phase
  • Production forecasting and planning of offload timing
  • Carry out process design work and related activities as assigned in project
  • Supervise the work of subcontractors and subordinates as assigned in accordance with the Project organization
  • Assist other disciplines in accordance with Project requirements
  • Participate in design review meetings in accordance with Project requirements
  • Contribute to the process simulation and process documents delivery (PFDs, P&IDs, equipment list, safety logic diagrams, studies reports)
  • Contributing to the technical specifications writing

Qualifications & personal attributes

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Process / Chemical Engineering or other relevant major
  • Long relevant experience may compensate lack of formal education with relevant experience
  • Experience in operation of subsea production systems in Ultra deep waters
  • Experience in the use of Subsea Multiphase pumps as artificial lift
  • Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to coordinate production teams
  • Experience in developing PFD's, P&ID's, MSD's and process equipment datasheets
  • Experience in Process Simulation (HYSIS / ASPEN / PROII)
  • HAZOP / SIL experience (chairman or attendee)
  • Process control capability beneficial e.g. Process Control Philosophy, Cause and Effects, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and interpersonal skills
